Who is responsible

The data controller for the personal information described in this notice is KAE Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05612373, trading as EdwardsApps. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZA811294.

Information we receive

• Enquiries: your name, email address and anything you include when you email us or use the enquiry form. The form sends what you type to Studiobooks, our own back office, which records it as an enquiry and passes it to Peter by email; if that service cannot be reached, your email app opens with the same details instead.
• Optional website analytics: information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type, browser and referral source, collected through Google Analytics only after you accept analytics.
• Optional advertising measurement: after marketing consent, Meta Pixel sends page views, page addresses and browser/device information to Meta, which may associate visits with Facebook or Instagram advertising using cookies. We do not send enquiry form contents through this pixel. See Meta’s privacy policy.
• Your consent choice: this website stores whether you accepted or declined analytics and marketing separately so it can respect that choice on later visits.

This website itself has no account area or checkout. Information held in Studiobooks is covered in the Studiobooks section below. Product websites linked from EdwardsApps have their own privacy information.

Why we use it

• To reply to enquiries, discuss a requested demo or decide whether a custom build is a good fit.
• To understand, with consent, which pages are useful and improve the website.
• To protect and operate the website and keep appropriate business records.

We rely on legitimate interests to answer general enquiries and operate the website, steps at your request before entering a contract where an enquiry concerns potential work, and consent for optional analytics and advertising measurement. You can withdraw analytics or marketing consent at any time through Cookie settings.

Who processes information

Website and email service providers may process information to provide their services. If you accept analytics, Google processes analytics information for EdwardsApps. If you accept marketing, Meta receives advertising-measurement information. These providers may process information outside the UK under the safeguards that apply to their services.

How long we keep it

Enquiry information is kept only for as long as it is needed to handle the conversation, provide any requested work and meet reasonable business or legal record-keeping needs. Analytics retention is controlled within Google Analytics. Your browser keeps the consent choice until you change it or clear the site's stored data.

Studiobooks

Studiobooks is the back-office app EdwardsApps makes for app and software studios, and the one this business runs on itself (it was previously called EdwardsApps Connect). It is available on the web at studiobooks.app, with an iPhone and iPad app to follow. Two kinds of people use it, and this part of the notice is written for both.

If you are an EdwardsApps client, Studiobooks is where our proposals, service agreements, invoices and shared documents reach you. We hold your account (your email address and the sign-in you choose, plus your name, phone number and job title if you add them in Settings), your company's details, the documents we have sent you and whether a proposal was viewed, accepted or declined along with any note you add, and a record of the emails Studiobooks has sent you. We use it to provide the service you have engaged us for, which is performance of our contract with you. Invoices and agreements are also kept to meet our legal and tax record-keeping duties.

If you run a studio on Studiobooks, KAE Ltd (trading as EdwardsApps) is the data controller for your account and your company's own settings, and a processor for the information you enter about your clients and contacts, which we handle only on your instructions to provide the service. One studio never has access to another's records. If you are a client of a studio that uses Studiobooks, the studio entered your details and is the controller for them, so questions about them go to the studio first.

Studiobooks does not show advertising or send push notifications, and uses Google Analytics only if you accept it in the notice it shows on your first visit. It is built on and hosted by Base44, which stores the data, handles sign-in and sends email. If you sign in with Apple or Google, that provider confirms your identity to us. These providers may process information outside the UK under the safeguards that apply to their services. We do not sell any information and do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

An account and its records are kept while Studiobooks is in use and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. Invoices, agreements and related financial records are kept for at least six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as UK law requires. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in Studiobooks, which removes your login and profile immediately. Business records belong to the studio that issued them and to the client they were issued to, so they are not removed with a login; to ask for those to be removed too, email peter@edwardsapps.co.uk from the address on your account. Your choices and rights

You can ask about the personal information EdwardsApps holds about you and, where applicable, ask for it to be corrected, deleted, restricted or provided to you, or object to its use. Email peter@edwardsapps.co.uk to make a request.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information has been handled.
